Pastor’s Report for 2009
“For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.’’ Psalms 100:5
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
By the grace of God today we gather as member of this congregation to give an accounting of our stewardship the Lord in our Annual Congregational Meeting.
We are a small congregation. Small in numbers, but when we have to come together a show our love and care we are giants. As many churches struggling with attendance we are also sad that only few of us are committed towards Sunday worship services.
Commitment to a local church means deciding on a church “home” and moving in for a permanent stay. Commitment to the local church also means actively using the talents and gifts to serve in the various ministries of the church.
I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the officers and elders of the congregation for their help and support in my ministry.
My hope and prayer is that we have been called by the Lord, let all of us respond with love and devotion in the coming year to live and serve His glory.
Respectfully in His service,
Rev. Csilla Toth, Pastor
Pastor’s Report for 2008
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And All that is within me, bless His holy Name, Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits…..” Psalm 103:1-2)
Lay Pastor Charles Olah served our congregation until October 2008 when I came back after a 8 year absence as your Supply Pastor. I am grateful to the Lord to be able to serve this congregation again. In 1997 this was the first Church in USA where I was Pastor. My family and I have always felt welcomed here.
As we take stock of the events in the life of our Church, we must remember that the results of all our efforts, plans, and activities come as a blessing from God. At the same time, we take special note from the word the Psalmist, that we have an obligation to praise and thank Him with all our being for His gracious love that benefits our lives.
The greatest benefit is the fellowship we enjoy with God and one another because of the salvation we have gained in Jesus the Christ. It is for this reason that we gather in corporate worship for the strengthening of faith, hope, and trust in God through loving kindness. To this end, the church provides additional opportunities of spiritual growth for the nourishment and enrichment of our lives.
We have English language worship service at 10:00 am and a Hungarian language worship service at 11:00 am. Average attendance at the Hungarian service is about 6 people while at the English service the average is around 10.
We have a children’s sermon at the English language worship services and also at the Hungarian language worship service if there are children present. We had a nice Christmas party that was well attended.
We pray for God’s presence and leadership for the journey and challenges ahead.
