Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Wharton, NJ

Proclaiming Jesus Christ For 105 Years

On October 3, 2004 our Church celebrated the centennial of its founding with a worship service of thanksgiving followed by a banquet.  These pictures give a glimpse of the joy shared by the Christian community with our congregation.

A very special thanks to our Clerk of Session, Judy Szabo, who spent about 18 months planning and preparing for the special day.  She also spent untold of hours just updating the Church’s history for our Anniversary booklet.  Without Judy’s leadership, inspiration, and hard work this celebration of 100 years of service to the Lord would have been impossible.

A special note of appreciation to our Anniversary Committee: Judy Szabo, Ferenc Csabai, Sr, Jolan Szmetena, Ilonka Zajos, Gabriella Ilkei, Andrew Csontos, Joseph Ilkei, Ferenc Csabai, Jr, Karen Lance, former Pastor Olah, and Rev Ernest Kosa.

Also, the worship service would not have been complete without the participation of the many visiting pastors from the Presbyterian Church and the Hungarian Reformed Church.

We wish a very sincere thank you to former Pastor Olah in working to layout the Anniversary booklet and to Ferenc Csabai, Jr for a most generous contribution to enable it to be printed.
